The trans cooler in that pic looks identical to the one by BD. Have you noticed a significant difference in trans temp when the fan kicks in....?

I have an extra bracket for a derale electric fan to mount on the transferr case skid plate if anyone is interested.

But i run just a derale tranny cooler as well. I did away with the stock set up and i never see over 170deg with my set up.

I need a bracket for an electric fan but I have a B&M Hi Tek cooler and my truck is a 2wd. So I'm not sure about the dimension of your bracket or where to rig it on a 2wd...? Trans cooler's never been installed and it's time to beef up the tranny, so it's go time.

Sorry if I am hijacking, but I am putting a fresh transmission in my truck next week. The one that is in there now has burnt dark brown fluid in it right now. Will I be alright just getting the cooler flushed? If not is there a better cooler that will bolt in the stock location?

i can take some pics of it. I bought 2 different brakets off of ebay from http://proweldperformanceparts.com/Supercoolers/SuperCoolerStory.html

its the one with the bracket for the transfer case mount. He had a bunch of the brackets on ebay a long time ago and i didnt know which one i wanted to use so i just bought one of each.

If your not adding a extra cooler I would just flush the stock one out with brake clean and compressed air both ways to clean your system, thats what we do with all of our trans installs.

It's really difficult to notice the temp drop since my probe in right in the hot line coming out of the trans from the converter, cause the temp is gonna be what ever that converter makes it to be. But if your running a probe in the pan you should be able to see significant difference in the fluid coming back into the pan while the fan is one. I might move mine into my Hy-tec pan so I can get some good results checking it.

There is a check ball/valve in the stock lines that needs to be removed as it will hang and cause oil starvation thus burning up your trans. If you keep your 'stock' setup you definitely need to do this.

Looks like the same pan and cooler I run.

I looked at the website and it looks like the one that'll work for me is the one that mounts on the frame. There asking 170 for that bracket on the website....LOL ...no

Nice setup, did you fab that bracket..? Are you running through bolts on the bed..?

The brakets (brushed aluminum) come with the cooler. I used a couple pieces of flat steel to actually mount the cooler to the brushed aluminum bracket, which was then mounted to the bed cross members. No screws are visable in the bed.

Well thats why i bought 2 of them when they were on ebay. $25.00 a piece. A lot cheaper than i could have spent the time to find a way to bet it all mounted and then build the bracket.
