howdy folks,

with putting twins on my truck I'm going to have to take off the factory heat exchanger. I'm looking to see what you all are running as far as transmission coolers that you can mount under the bed. Maybe some budget setups if any of you's are running them. Also, wondering where at under the bed you put them so that they get decent airflow but are out of the way. Lastly, for the time being I am planning on just moving the factory cooler under the bed so that I only have to get new hoses made once. Do you's think that the factory cooler alone will be enough for a short time like maybe 2-3 weeks, with no towing?

you need to check out http://proweldperformanceparts.com/Supercoolers/SuperCoolerStory.html

I cought some of these people mounting brakets on ebay and just picked up one of each mounting bracket up. I have one of the frame mounts i will sell. I just bought my own cooler and made my own lines. Got all the stuff from summit. Seems to keep it fairly cool. I did away with everything and just run my lines straight to the electric tranny cooler.

That's a steep price for their whole kit. Why not just relocate the factory heat exchanger under the front crossmember?

I put that whole system together including the bracket they have that i bought off ebay for $25 and the stainless lines all fittings, and electric fan/cooler for less than $300. And it keeps my temps cooler than they were with the stock set up.

I'd be worried a rock or something would hit the tank being down there.

B&M sells a trans cooler with fan and temp switch, so does Derale, Flex A Lite, etc.

Here is the B&M one..http://store.summitracing.com/partd...t=BMM-70298&N=700+4294854215+115&autoview=sku

I can't imagine it'd be that hard to fab up a bracket. Then you'd just need to run some lines. Could go fancy and use metal brake line, stainless flex line, or cheap and just use rubber line (would be fine too)

I did it today, instead of putting it below the crossmember I tucked it up behind it, got all of my hoses made at my uncles napa store, everything works great and looks nice to.

little late but here is my setup:

Did the same thing on my 12v. Right behind the front bumper. Factory heat exchanger works very well IMO.
