Trans Filter

Is it possable to not use the filter in the trans, and replace it with an aux filter. A spin on type. And just have one filter.

I was thinking of using a trans cooler with a fan and using a spin on type filter in line with it.

It is, but you have to have a screen of sorts to keep metal out of the pump

Wouldn't one of those filter magnets do the trick. I'm just trying to set it up so i don't have to drop the pan.

i too would also like to know. dropping the pan is a PITA!! if I'm correct, the allisons have a spin on filter.

Could just do both, And won't have to replace the inside filter as often. That's what I did, works nice.
