What I have: 96 with a professionally built trans using DTT components assembled in 07 and has just under 100K on the build. The Sensor and Pressure solenoids were reused because at the time they were less than a year old.
I had a problem with the trans going into limp and doing 3rd gear starts starting around late 09. It got to the point that I couldn't deal with it and put a new gov pressure sensor and solenoid in. The truck was generating a P1763, which I thought I corrected last year by splicing in a resistor in the Gov P signal wire. It started shifting correctly and no more 3rd gear starts.
The truck started shifting more and more lightly in the last few months, and tuesday night after reading some other threads, I decided to adjust the throttle valve cable to firm up the shifts. This immediately started with the 3rd gear/limp. At startup it will shift to second, stack to third and run fluid coupling out to road speed.
I was going to install a Zener diode to dump the extra signal voltage and prevent the ecm/trans from trying to modify the excess line pressure. (I still need to install a gauge and verify pressure)
I need a way to cure the limp mode and a suggestion on how to firm up the shifts, or get them back to what they were when the trans was rebuilt. I intend to adjust the bands again. I did this at 50K on the build.
If anyone needs more info about the trans, please let me know what to go after and I will find out as soon as possible.
My other issue: immediately after the trans was built, The lockup switch doesn't have a direct affect on lockup. After pushing the switch, I either have to modulate the throttle or let the truck run out long enough for the engine load to change (up or down hill) and then it will lock. It will stay locked after this until the engine locks. Is this a lazy lockup solenoid? It's likely it is the original one from before then trans was rebuilt.
Thank you for any help.
Kyle
