First off, thanks again for the help guys! The new input and my new PTC triple disc torque converter are in!! :woohoo::woohoo: I filled it, took it for a short drive, and topped it off as it looked like I was about 2 quarts low on the initial fill. It now uses the gears instead of loafing through them like it did with that piece of chit converter that was in there before. When it hits lock up, it is the hardest "shift" feel of any. I am getting more boost #'s in the lower gears too.. only foot brakes to about 1600-1700.. I am VERY happy with this new torque converter. Might even try some locked shifting today now that Opies are in. :rockwoot::rockwoot::rockwoot:
Question: with a couple different ways for bands to be adjusted, I'm not trusting the adjustment that I had made.. I did the 72 inch pounds, and backed off about 2-1/4 turns. If my adjustment is not proper, how can I tell from the performance aspect.. will there be chattering or something? Best I can tell, it is ok. Only thing that is different about the way it runs is the converter being more efficient, and the 2nd-3rd shift is delayed slightly now. Not a slow shift, but it waits to a higher rpm to make the shift. Don't know if I could have gotten something in the valve bodyas I did not seperate the plates, or if this has something to do with the front band adj. Any ideas ?
