Trans Problem

I have a 2005 F350 6.0 4x4 and the trans bangs and it feels like the trans is slipping when I give it gas to back up. Is my trans shot? All forward gears are ok.
 
Well...that's a sure way to fix it...:hehe:

Were the pins backing out of it?

How does it run now?
 
Mine did that too before both rebuilds. Sucks trying to back up a trailer when the truck is falling in and out of reverse.
 
I asked this question at www.Ford Truck Enthusiasts.com and I was told what went wrong before the Dealer called me about the trans. FTE has some good techs to help with understanding what went wrong and what Ford has done to prevent this from happening again.

Skirk, did FMC diagnose it, or id they just start replacing parts until it worked?

They did not get any codes so they dropped the pan and found the metal and retainer ring. The trans is new. They did not rebuild it.
