trans problems

friend has an 01 with an auto, right between about 40-55 mph the tranny downshifts, shifts up, down shifts, shifts up. When past 55 it goes in to over drive. What gives? The fluid is full, the motor does have like 96xxx on it, and I am not sure if the bands have ever been adjusted. What would you suggest?

maybe a new trans filter and some fluid?

band adjustment?

this is on a stock truck by the way.

change the fuild kinda sounds like a pluged filter to me andi have been told you shouldnt have to adjust the bands ever i never did on my old one cause it was junk by that time lol

Change Fluid, and Filter. Adjust Frontbands and check your Trasmission Throttle Valve Cable.
