hey guys i have an 01 duramax with efi live tuning and i was wondering what it would take to make the tranny hold the upper power level tunes? The truck wont get modded past this just wanna be able to run on the hotter tunes.
Thanks Bryan

yes thats the problem even on my 70 hp tune it will limp as soon as it hits 5th gear. any suggestions on a builder or parts

i went with garmon diesel in griffin, ga, tranny is solid customer service sucked! if i had it to do over again i would go suncoast all the way

Where are you located? And theres really nothing you can to make it hold better without dropping the trans in a 5speed

im located around urbana ohio. and the tranny still feels good it just had been rebuilt to stock before i bought it. i was just wondering if the converter is trashed. from what i been told it was a lbz converter that had been pulled out and replaced with a triple disk. so who knows what kinda shape it was in.

7o horse and you are limpin??? Who did the rebuild? Stock clutches should be able to hold at 90-100 over stock.

I would look up Mike L. or Goerge they both ship tranny's out all the time and are the best builders in the nation

yes the tune is supposed to be 70 hp. a local guy in urbana ohio did it. everyone ive talked to seems to think the same thing but who knows.

Maybe try a different tune, it could be the tune. Maybe post a scipt of the tune so we can see what the truck is doing.

well i know for a fact that my tunes have no tranny tuning in them what so ever. the guy dont think they need it his answer is a built tranny but not everyone has that kinda money to throw around

I think Crank it up diesel is out of Urbana actually. Not sure what kind of work they do, but I think they use ATS parts which means $$$ If he can't afford to build it, I'd suggest that he back the tuning down. Like I said there is no way to hold more power without dropping the transmission, and it wouldn't e worth it to drop it for just a shift kit. Back off on the tuning or build the trans, only options really

its gonna get a built tranny soon. im just worried without any tranny tuning its gonna fuk up a built tranny to. plus there is no way im gonna run a copilot just a waste of more money imho

Find a reputable tuner.. Tans tuning is not critical IMO unless you are going for HUGE gains with EFI. The adaptive learning of the Allison will help it learn it's new found power and capability of it being built and the shift will get better and better.

That being said always remember adaptive learning will bite you in the ass. If your putin around town and then slam it the floor you can still imp a buil;t tranny with hot tuning.

kyle has built alot of trannies that I know of including mine, my cousins and my uncles. I have drag raced and pulled to many times to count with mine and its still as good as the day i brought it home. The co pilot is the only way to go with a ATS tranny. I recomend kyle. Does a great job and held up to my abuse fine. my truck runs 12.0's all day long so i am making decent power too.

My big tunes are done by Pat McSwain a.k.a McRat. Smaller tunes by myself.

Rob Coddens is a vendor here, he is the tuner for the Max'd out D-max. He is very tallented and knows his ****
