ok i have a 6-speed tranny and the transfer case went out. on the back of the tranny there is a tranny mount with a rubber bushing with 2 bolts holding it. do i have to undo it to get the transfer case out? there is a big ring of bolts infront of the mount and a smaller ring of bolt behind the mount which one do i take out to get the transfer case out? thanks

The ring of bolts behind the mount are the ones you remove and they are actually nuts, 14MM to be precise. No, the mount does not have to come off to pull the T case. If you are moderately strong you can bench press the case out, also it will not fall when the last nut comes off, the studs and output of the tranny will hold it in place.

Thanks man, I wasn't very sure which one it was. Im a ford guy but all my buddies have dodges and im always working on them. One day i hope to beable to work on all kinds of trucks.

Other than the electronics they are all pretty much the same, nuts and bolts hold together a collection of parts that always break at the worst possible time LOL
