I just recently had my 47rh built, and the stock cooler lines are leaking. Everytime i get them to stop, they start leaking again within a week or so. I am slowly trying to simplify my truck, and I have a plan on mounting a trans cooler in the bed. I have been researching this all day, and it seems like alot of people run an auxiliary cooler setup, but some say that they dont work well enough or they destroyed their tranny after installing one.

What kind of cooler is everyone using?

I was thinking something like this:
JEGS Performance Products 60346 JEGS HP Transmission Coolers

But if that isnt enough, I was thinking about running the trans fluid through that cooler, and then through a smaller cooler without a fan before going back to the transmission.

What do you guys think?

I am not a transmission guy, in fact i would consider myself new to the diesel stuff even though i've owned mine for over a year. I just want my transmission to run like it should before I start putting the power to it

I would still run an air to air in the front of the truck if its a daily driver. I have a $20 summit cooler up front feeding a double stack cooler with fan in the bed and it works well. I also do not have the heat exchanger on the passenger side of the motor anymore, but I have not had a problem yet I just turn on the fan if im in traffic and it starts to get warm.

I was thinking about mounting a plate from about midway up on the front of the bed at a 45* angle down to the floor, and cutting out a space to put the cooler in with a fan blowing air through it. I would run the tranny lines up through the floor of the bed.

Thanks for the advice though. I dont want to go spending a bunch of money on a setup and still have my junk running way hot. I'm just sick and tired of these stock leaky lines, and want to have as simple of a setup as i can
