Transmission replacement

Hello i have a friend that is wanting to change his allison transmission for a built one. I have a few questions on this. He is buying one that is fully built and with a tripple disc converter. I have changed transmissions and just wonder about the allision is there anything special to it? Does it have to be programmed for a relearn? It is a 4x4. Thanks for the help for a d max newbie.

you have to use the bolts that come with the 3D converter

Nothing really special. If you have never changed a allsion in a d-max before then it can be a pain in the ass. It is very heavy so that is the biggest saftey aspect you need to watch out for. It will also shift better from the get go if you put it in quick learn mode after a trans swap but it dosent have to be.
