Every now and then when I come into town or somewhere that im slowing down but still in overdrive, my truck will kick in and out of od for a quick second then goes back in..? If its doing this, and i ease into the pedal it will stop right away. Hope this isnt a stupid question...lol

oh and I have about 175,000 on it

Its probably the torque converter unlocking, then locking again.

Before you swap out the APPS try resetting it, there is a pretty good writeup on it in the tech article section.

I had a similar problem, but mine would kick in and out when I was trying to speed up with little throttle. It wouldnt quit unless I put the pedal down and make it upshift. It was a TC problem.

correct me if im wrong but at 0% throttle the tc unlocks same at 100% that could be what your feeling.

yea i probably should just replace the tc and service evrything else while im at it....wish i had a money tree

When I had the problem it made my truck jump like I was floorin the throttle then letting off, over and over. It would do this until I increased the throttle then it would finally shift. When I took it to the tranny shop I was told it was the TC so I went ahead and got a billet TC with new, bands, discs, and VB. Havent had any problems with it... yet.

Could also easily be the shift solonoids on the valvebody. If they get junk on them they can cause erratic stuff like that. Just throwing another possibility out there.

Yea for sure on that! My dad had a truck identical to yours, color and everything, and he got well over 300,000 without a bit of trouble. (his was a 5 speed)

That's what I was looking for when I bought this truck, but they were so hard to find because nobody wanted to get rid of them. Since I bought the truck I see 5 speeds, I wouldnt mind having, for sale every week. I almost sold mine to get one, but it was 2wd.
