Ok, this was my mistake but can you help me fix it... I redid all the fuel lines to my pump in 10an , after making the lines I cleared them of rubber debree or so I thought. Put everything together bled everything and she fired and ran perfect.... For a sec then she dropped # 6 cyl( I could crack the injector line while engine was running and it was not fueling from the pump.I put in back on and ran it fir a while longer and # 6 would fire sometimes then stop fueling. As everything was working perfect before the new lines I believe some rubber got into the pump... How do I get it out????

Once I pull the dv holder out can I remove the 2 nuts( first marking it's position) and remove the whole cover?

Throw it in the trash can and buy a new one. Did you check the ground?

man this makes me want to move my filtration to the pressure side when I see that. But then you cant use the water drain since all that agitation emulsifies any water.
maybe a small high micron rating filter at the pump inlet.

Yea I have 2 filters a 60 micron stainless at the lift pump an a 100micron just before the p pump, but I just put the second one in, so what ever got by is already in the pump

Just curious about pulling the #6 barrel top of and if anyone has ever done so , some info would be great

If you can't get it cleaned out using compressed air and removing the lines, dv holder, and dv then it needs to go visit a fuel injection shop.

You could try flushing it out using diesel and air as mentioned above. I would do this with the pump vertical so the trash could move easier towards the hole. This would be the easiest with the pump removed, but if you can get the pump vertical with it in the truck, more power to ya...

Otherwise, injection pump shop time.

Also, it would not be wise to remove the two nuts on the top and pull the barrel assembly out.

Is that a typo? Why would you have a 100 micron filter downstream of a 60? You're supposed to go finer, not coarser, with your filtration.

What stainless mesh filter are you running near the IP? Ive seen a couple like the racor one that looks like a filter head. kinda pricey and makes me wonder how bad it might impede flow.
the 100 downstream of a 60 im guessing is just a final safety to catch chunks of hose and whatever. Id want to go fairly coarse too so Im not adding more restriction on fuel flow.

Running aeromotive filters with an a1000 lift pumpand yes I added the second one by the p pump as an after thought, just to catch any junk, the fine one is pre pump so it dosent obstruct flow
