Hey everybody,
I live in western KY close to Russelville KY. I work for a dairy supply company doing service work and delivery routes. I drive a 2004 dodge 3500 with the 5.9L Cummins diesel. Recently i have been experiencing loss of power and getting a lot of black smoke and occasionally it will shut off and come right back.
I talked with a few guys and the mechanic was scared to touch it mainly because he is afraid of getting too much time into diagnostics. Does anybody know what may be causing this?
One suggestion as for the loss of power was the fuel pressure relief valve may have bust. Where is this located and how do I go about checking it out?
I alsohave a list of the codes that were coming up but dont have them with me at the moment. I will get them and post them as well.
