Just a quick post for those who do not know. TTTPA sanctioned event May 16th and 17th. Check out TTTPA's site for other dates and rules. We are in desperate need of pullers in the modified diesel pickup class. As it stands now, there are two of us. TTTPA is trying to make this a permanent part of their show, so come on out and pull with us!

I'm trying to make it. I'm really working on getting everything done.

I talked to David a couple weeks ago about this event. Assuming I can get the truck together, I will be there.

Hey Scott,

The project is set up, so my wife pulls and I shoot. She is on staff at Diesel World and it is their project. So, she has the fun of breaking it and I have the trouble of putting it back together, YEAH!!!

It's this weekend. I'm going. Friday and Saturday pulls. anyone want to tag along???

My truck is down. So, I'm not going to make this pull. Planning on making the compD drag instead.

if i hadn't already planned on the compD race i wouldn't have minded visiting sweetwater again :(

looks like a typical pos texas PULL short and all. I am just so tried of going to the events and only having 4 or 5 trucks there. Not worth my time to come up there and win the $200 and take a chance on breaking my truck.

IF you would have been there and won (providing that you had all necessary safety devices installed and paid membership dues) both nights, you would have won $400. Quit whinning and either join and be a part of the association so your vote WILL count or stick to the local pickup class at all of the tractor pulls. It really would be nice to have more trucks in the series. TTTPA is still very young and this is just the first year for the diesel trucks. If more of us were to be involved, we could vote on all unfavorable issues and make it the best that it can be. Until then, we will just have to try and make a showing while others complain about the safety requirements and engine mod restrictions.

I have place every time i have pull with those guys and plan on getting my truck set up to pull with in the rules. Just may not be this year.

Good to hear it, we could use another good pulling truck or two. And like I said, the sooner more of us get involved, the sooner we can vote in changes. Let me know if there is anything that I can help you with - I have a few extras around the shop and a bunch of new ideas on the drawing table.

If i understand correctly they are just wanting a cover over the ujoint at the rear end??? Thats my main problem is getting the time to get the driveline loops built and my traction bars. Last year i broke the rearend and really dont want to take a chance on it again since i gained another 130hp.

u-joint shields on both axles, cross bolts as close to the turbo as possible, upward exhaust rear of cab, driveshaft hoops, no NO2, no water/meth, single turbo no larger than 2.6, 3" id pulling ring-fixed reese style hitch no higher than 26" from ground, 8,500# weight limit, fixed weights on front of truck allowed with approved mounting-no swinging weights, ballast weights in bed permitted, steel hood, complete OEM body and interior, DOT approved tires-no cut tires, current inspection and registration, stock appearing fuel pump(questionable on this ruling-might need to contact Lynn Chupp for more precise info). Basically the same as the DHRA rules are for the super street deisel pulling class, minus the helmet and fire suit.

The rules and official contacts are listed on TTPA's website:

I'm sorry I missed this event. My parts didn’t get here in time to make it. I ended up going to the compd event and breaking down ¼ of the way there. So, probably better I didn’t put the truck through its paces at a pull.

I should have event on my truck in the next couple weeks. So, I will make it to the next event. The only part I’m not 100% sure I can do now is the upwards exhaust. But I think I’m just going to hand a up-pipe off of my side exhaust to direct it upwards, which would make me legal. I’m looking forward to Deleon.

when is deleon this year? Gotta love the peach and melon fest! Too bad trucks start at damn near midnight!

What happened on the drive over chad?

Hey Scott,

There are two events this year at Deleon. The first one is on the 7th which is a fundraiser for the new facility. The big one is August 7th - 9th.

I'm hoping to make the 7th. As long as my injectors are here, I will be pulling. If not, I will be watching / photographing.

As far my truck, I have been having issues with one battery for a while now (totally my fault) and I guess it took out my alternator on the way out there. So, I was 30 miles from Longview and the truck died. It took 5 hours to get me towed back to Canton and fixed, but at lease it was before they closed and I didn't have to spend the night.

I ended up making it to Steele Saturday morning at 4 am. What a long day considering I started driving at 9 am. I'm also having some serious injector issues.

If all you are lacking at the time of the pull is upward exhaust, you can be permitted to make one pull without it - one time only. I'm sure that as long as you have the u-joint shields and your truck passes on all of the other tech issues you can pull. I sure hope we get a good turnout for the rest of the year.

I need to sit down with David. I have a couple ideas on way to increase your draw. I just need to get past a couple deadlines and then schedule a meeting with him. I was actually trying to meet up with him a couple weeks ago, but it didn't work out.

Thanks for the heads up. I figured that I would just have to make a temp. upwards direct thing that mounts on the side of my bed. The other tech shouldn't be an issue. The u-joint shields are going on next week. I'm getting the pipe tomorrow or Wednesday. I have the turbo, but I need to get it installed. I should have injectors here in the next week. I have a built tranny so everything else is just extra stuff I'm trying to get done.

Thanks for the heads up.
