Truck bogs down while driving

Driving down the interstate about 70mph with the cruise on and the truck starts bogging down for about 10 seconds and then comes out of it. Truck is an 02 auto 4x4. My friend just bought it from a used lot and the salesman told him it had a programmer in it. Hard telling if it does or if the salesman was just trying to sell a truck. I did look and notice it has an hx40 turbo and exhaust , but the stock air intake. It sometime has some white smoke a little at start up. Im thinkin maybe he should take it to the dealer and have the computer flashed if thats possible. Cruising about 70 boost is 4psi and egts are 600. The egts wont pass 900 degs. Any suggestions?
 
check fuel psi and for any boost leaks/ Intercooler leaks or restrictions to start, and is smoking when it does this?
 
I had something like that happen to my 2000. It was the lift pump. I put a Fass pump on it .Man did it run so much better after that. Fix it fast before it takes out your injection pump.
 
Same thing on my 2001. Lift pump died, would quit pulling at 75, pick bask up at 55 once it sucked up its own fuel. Lucky it did not kill the IP.
 
You can run a mechanical gauge into the cab to see what happens. i dont think you should see any less than 10 psi at anytime besides cranking. normal psi is around 15.
 
Ok we put an airdog II kit on the truck. It seems to be getting worse. It cuts out bad for a littlle bit and then runs aweaome for a little bit and then cuts out again.
 
Its easy to tell if it has a programmer on it... are there any boxes plugged into the MAP sensor? Id not, the only other option would be a Smarty and I doubt they would sell it without the programmer itself since once its VIN locked its useless on any other truck.
 
When I put the airdog on it I got rid of the stock fuel filter canister. So all it has is the airdog filter and its brand new. We did put an edge comp on it also but it doesn't matter if the box is on or off the truck still cuts out. I was gonna check for codes but don't remember the key sequence to bring them up.
