truck cuts off

Well here's the thing, in the morning i will go out to my truck and start it. Some days it will start up no problem. but other days i will go to start it and it will cut right off. Now if i give it some gas it will stay started until i let off the gas. Then once i go a little ways it will stay started no problems. So dose anybody know what might be going on.
(P.S.) I know very little about trucks so talk slow and explain as if you were explaining to a retarded kid. thanx

i would go to Auto zone or a local shop and have them check for code

it sounds like a fuel pump (lift pump) or a VP44 (injection pump) or an APPS problem to me

Fuel filter, fuel leak letting air in the system, or a bad check valve in the IP.
