I got a 1998 QCSB 12 valve with an auto tranny (unfortunately)

When I got the truck everything was fine, then things started to turn for the worse so some tlc is needed for this truck..

Just started Doing this a lil while ago but when I put it in reverse or drive ( more often in reverse) it starts loping...If I cut the wheel real hard it will practically kill itself. I was told it was some melted gears that are stickin due to it overheating...
The whole time, the truck is not moving, brake is applied or have not accelerated when lope starts
Who can help?

One of my buddies truck had sort of the same problem.is it like a full blown lope or more of a lugg, whats your rpms when its lopeing?its more than likely a tranns issue with clutch packs.but couldnt be 100%. thats what his was.only difference was his was a 24v.

What does it bring you rpms down to?

You need to get someone to get in your truck and put it in gear, then set your idle at around 700-800 while it's in gear. I had the same problem on my 97 12 valve, that fixed the problem.

i'm going with setting the idle to 8 while in gear as well. did this to a friends old 96 and fixed its loping problem.
