truck runs funny

i got my truck up and running agian after being down since a week after thanks giving. the trans went out and i finally got one for it. anyway. while it was down i traded a guy my comp and some $$ for his comp with the hot unlock. well i got the truck finished and runnin sat afternoon. took it for the first drive and its not runnin so good. it just doesnt want too accelerate and has no power. after i drove it for a few min it starts to come out of that... then it started acting like i was hitting a rev limiter or something and blowing white smoke if i went anything past half throttle. if i shut the comp off it doesnt do it. it runs fine... just no power cause its stock. so is it the comp acting up? cause it ran fine with my old comp and runs fine with it turned off... any idea's?
