just got my 06 back together and I would say about 50% of the time if I hammer on the truck and lift hard the truck will try to run away for a few seconds.. although it feels like a eternity in the truck...lol:badidea:.. any thoughts on the cause of this... also the truck is really touchy.. they dont have any kinda tps adjustement or anything right? my smarty is just on catcher 8 untill I break the truck in..

What Smarty tune? A few of the tunes are known to be touchy and cause run on. Try another tune.

Seems to me the short runaway is worsened by adding pressure. Are you running any added pressure?

turn the torque management to stock, that'll help w/ the touchiness...

as for the continued pulling after jumping off the throttle? must be an 06 thing because mine does it, and I've talked w/ a few people who have the same issue. freaky the first time you jump out of it to haul on the brakes, and the truck is still driving against you!

im running smarty tnt but right now i just have it on catcher 8 with no options adjusted... just to kinda break in the motor.. i usually run a mp8 stacked with it.. i have a set of about 150-175's ddp's they were custom.

Im also running the 03-04 pistons in my truck...with a 06 ecm, but the truck runs to great to be a issue with that I believe?

I had a runaway with my DDP 150's. I then swapped to Flux's and it stopped. Guess the DDP's were overfueling the motor and just making it bog and try to run away.

My 07 does it too with everything on the smarty turned all the way up. If its turned down, it doesn't do it.

loaded a new tune... so far so good, it just has the normal common rail runaway now...lol I can deal with that the other one was scarry... how do guys drag race these things..

Mine only seems to do it when its at the redline. If you let off the gas when its at redline it will run away. If im not at the redline it doesn't.

gotcha the only good thing about one of these runaways is that they are full electronics... just turn the key off...

Sounds like with "Fast" injectors, the minimum pw/rail settings in the PCM (after any and all molesting by your interceptor boxes) is still too high to allow for a small enough amount of fuel to be injected for adequate engine deceleration at high rpm when you lift.

All of the CR trucks are going to do it to a certain extent. After market parts will change how much you feel it. It is basically for emissions purposes. It is kind of freaky the first time it happens. You get used to it after a while.

mine with the triple dog and dr p do. i think on mine anyway, its the rail pressure ramping up so high that when you lift the throttle fast it spikes up causing the truck to surge forward. ive gotten used to it htough and it doesnt bother me now. it does only seem to do it on max tuning and a little more when pressure is up all the way
