i have a 62/65/12 and was wondering if that would work or if i should go with a 14cm or something nonwastegated and run an external wastegate.

Everyone has their own recipe for power. I was running a 64/14 wastegated over the S480 with no problems. I didn't have an external gate....seemed to run exceptionally well for what it was I enjoyed it. I think you would be just fine with the turbo you have. It would spool quicker than what I had.
