First let me say thanks in advance i have been reading on this site for quite some time and it seems like everyone here is very knowledgable.

This truck is for the for a 2.8 "pro-street diesel" class we have up here in ontario canada. Its a 95 dodge rclb. The truck is pretty much gona be a dedicated puller with limited street driving.

A bit of info on my projected combo: Benched 180 pump, 5k springs, 5 x 18s, water to air intercooling, lots of head porting possibly with intake cut off etc, big cam yet to be decided on. Balanced rotator with stock pistons. Truck will be a six speed stick with 4.10 gears. Mcleod dual disc street puller clutch. I have 35 inch KM2 mud terrains now, but may go to STS's in the future.

Right now im looking at various different S472 turbos, I know the small turbine wheel with a .9 t4 will spool the best on the street but all the ones ive found seem to be alot pricier than other options. Plus the cost of external gating and such. So im wondering just how bad the big wheel and 1.32 housing would be to get spooled? These are on ebay for like 600 bucks. I think if i could get it lit somewhere around 25-2600 i would be happy. Also feel free to chime in on anything else you guys think would help me out.

Thanks, Josh

Ya I was out to see him yesterday and went over a few things actually. Just kind of exploring my options a bit.

I cant see you keeping the big wheel s475 with the 1.32 a/r spooled at the far end of the track, also cant see you spooling it on the street. Im not from canada nor have i seen the caliber of 2.8 trucks your competing against, But sounds like a true 2.8 turbo like the scheid lightning would suit your needs, Theres quite a few used ones on this site. Also the 4.10's with a 6 speed leave you without a good gear to pull in, might want to find some 3.55's.
Regardless of what some will say, IMO its hard to beat a 6 speed with 3.55s, you might break the output shaft on it if you have it hooking good (I did) but after i sent it to enterprise and had a sleeve put on it, it has workied awesome for me. Dont break ring and pinions like our other truck which has 5.13's in it.

Kind of off topic but I am trying to get a pull together in Peterborough in May so you have until then to get built and come and test before the season starts.

I would be up for a little test and tune, keep us posted if you succeed in getting a pull together I am sure I can drag down a few other pullers from up here!

You didn't like my turbo that was sitting at his shop? It's on sale...
Do you have your head work done already? Or are you doing it at the same time as the port and polish? I would finish the headwork, HD rods, rod bolts, 14mm main studs, electric water pump( before you kick out a frost plug at 5000rpm), water-air, probably more fuel and a big charger. Mind you with the war-air it will be hard to drive it on the street and keep the ice in it without a heat exchanger.

I just talked to a couple of guys tonight and are probably going to build the new track at a buddies place next week before the frost sets in. We have lots of material so we are going to do our best to make it better than some of the crap we have to pull on all year.

Kris ya i would definately be up for a test and tune. And i didnt even realize he had your turbo there. PM me what your price is if you dont mind, the more i think about it maybe a bullet would be a good starting point for me.

As for the motor work im kinda thinkin along those lines, was just gone clip the fins on the stock water pump though i think.

And darren, my reasoning behind the 4.10s is to keep it more drivable on the street than 3.55s. Im thinking i should have my pick between 4th low or second high with the six speed. I do have a set of 3.55s that i could put in if the need arises. Thanks for the help guys keep it comin

Thanks, Josh

Hanover Ontario, its almost 3 hours away but if we can pull more than once it is definitly worth it

Hey Kris - is this a private track, and who ya usin fer a sled

Can anyone come play?

We just went yesterday to lay out the track and we are going to build it next week before the frost sets in. Everyone is going to be welcome with some rules of course as for drinking and horsing around. We want this to be a fun day for guys to try their trucks before the season begins. Were just trying to put the pieces together and when we have eveything in place I will let you guys know where and when this will be happening. Were only doing this to try and have a fun and incident free day of pulling. I will keep you posted Ken with further details.

Thanks Kris

Anybody have any experience buying from ebay seller "turboparts4sale" ?

He says he can build me a 71mm inducer S400 with 83mm turbine wheel, .9 t4 housing and race cover for $1150. All genuine BW parts.

Thoughts?

That sounds pretty reasonable. Might be able to find them cheaper.
