Turbo or Fuel surge?

I have a '01 2500 VP44 truck that is surging at anything past half throttle. I just built the motor 500 miles ago and it was my first cummins build. I'm running DDP 110's and no electronics right now. I put a turnbuckle on the stock HY35 and ported the exh. manifold for the bigger turbo to come. These are the only 3 changes I've made, I can drop the fuel guage to @6psi and I do not have a boost guage. Fuel or Boost, any ideas?:thankyou2:

You need to get a boost fooler or get some sort of box/module with the boost fooler built in.
Running injectors with no boost fooler is throwing an overboost code and defueling the truck causing the surge, if I were to guess.
Get a boost fooler or box/module with boost fooling built in. Sounds like you need a lift pump upgrade and some gauges too.

I just put the Airdog on today, and I have Fuel Press, Pyro and Trans Temp just no boost yet. Anyway I did a 45 minute load test and the turbo is wasted now so I'll be lookin to get a new one and a box that does boost fooling. Any recommendations?

Just about any box out there will do boost fooling nowadays.

Turbo? I'd like to have something just to get'er back runnin for now, but that will work great for twins in a couple months.

Oh yeah, I'm not lookin to race, but I had 25,000 on it when the last turbo left out so I'm lookin to build twins to tow with. Thanks for advice as I am a rookie!
