are there seals between the different housings?

I am getting soot buildup on the side of my oil line up top from the turbine housing. Not bad, its not covering the whole turbo.

Also, does the positioning/clocking of the housing matter? once bolted to the manifold I had to loosen up those four bolts to get the center housing to line up with the stock oil drain, and then had to loosen up the compressor housing to get it to line up to start of the intake hoses.

Turbo is an s300

No seals. You may not have gotten the exh housing seated completely to the center section or the bolts tight

looks like i get get to pull the turbo apart anyway... barked it tonight and shes whistling louder then normal now. no abnormal shaft play.

where can i find info on the turbo i have? its a s300 62/71/14 with a "racecover"

Pulled it apart, and found some contact on the housing. Its currently at a buddies shop who does aircraft turbos, he isnt really familiar with the automotive sector.

we were looking on the bullseye website and the measurements do not add up to what i have. Just looking for a rebuild kit with bearings and such.

Does this mean any s300 rebuild kits I found online will work? Is there a difference between Bullseye and schwitzer or are they the same thing.

And anywhere I can read up on this, to gain some knowledge so I don't have to ask such newby questions
