I am looking for information on the right turbo I'm think s300 66/13 or 64 or am I shooting too high. I would like a used one that needs to be rebuilt I have some things I want to do to it before installing.

what grade of stainless is the SS housing

Not sure on the grade but between comparing the two the SS is much thicker than the cast housings and the SS has dual 1" wastegates over the standard dual 5/8" gates. What are your plans for the truck.

do you tow? drive like an ol'lady or like you stole it? will you be going bigger on fuel? do you have studs/fire rings? as is a 62/14 would be a nice street/towing turbo but will heat up if flogged too long and bigger compressors will do best if boost can exceed 50psi.(studs/rings). if your converter is tight then smaller housing but keep rpms below 2500. what will this truck be doing most? what limits(egt/boost/lag) can/cant you live with?

I tow heavy for extended amounts of time with my II PS62/14 and have no heat issues what so ever. Edge Juice set on 2-2 with Jammer IV sticks. Cruisin' with #10,000 payload is 950-1050 F EGT, pullin' long hills in 6th gear with cruise set on 70 mph is 1150-1250 F EGT.

Well hers the deal. I don't tow, cant keep my foot out the throttle. Will be ordering a set of mach7's. Looking to cryo treat turbo and ceramic coat the turbine housing. I am also working on cryo treating a special VP 44. When I rebuild the motor I will have the entire motor cryoed along with the gears and trans.

Go with a Silver Bullet 66 if going to a big injector, or Twins. But I would stick with a Mach 6 if staying with a Single Charger

My adrenaline right now will run my pyro to 1600 if I would push it so I have lots of fuel I also make 34-35 lbs of boost with my stocker turbo I'm just not exhausting the air fast enough

The reason I ask about the grade of stainless is cryo treating doesn't do much for 330 stainless or 430 stainless but it does loads for 440

Call up high tech turbo and ask them. Don't know if they'll tell you or not but it's worth a shot since they are the only one's doing it. Also, your gonna need at least a 66mm turbo or twins to cool a mach 7. And what's up with all the cryo treating? Can you let us in on what benefits you hope to see out of it?

Cryo treating in relatively simple terms does a couple of things to metals. It turns austenetic steels to martensitic which is stress relieved. It also creates a much tighter micro structure which does a couple of things. less resistance, less wearing and with the stress relief maintains it shape when heated. The reason metal chnges shapes when heated is mainly due to the residual stress left in the metal. You can free up horsepower if the metal retains it shape and also less resistance equals less% loss

Keep in mind metal when heated will still expand but with equi-distributed molecules will expand evenly instead of bending, warping or shifting. which is what happens to your pistons when heated. Believe it or not they don't expand evenly at all

Feel free to PM me with information I would be glad to work with you or anyone else if interested.

Obviously you know what your talking about cause it took me a sec to deceifer what you were saying. LOL I've never heard of anybody who's gone to that extreme. How much power do you think you'll gain from doing that? I'm assuming you have access to a cryo machine cause I can't imagine doing all those parts is cheap. I'm curious as to how it turns out for ya.

Smokem, what are you talking about?

I think if I gain 20 to 30 HP with everything. I will be impressed. The biggest thing is the engine will last longer. If you put that much in a motor you want it to last. Oh and smokem don't knock it till you try it my biggest pet peave is hearing I do it that way because its always been done that way. You may need to think outside your little box

I see well then I apologize I thought you were commenting on cryo treating. I didn't mean to come off as an a$$.
