Turbo Surge?

Hey guys. So about a year ago, I blew up my stock hx35. I bought a used HC1 as a temporary replacement. When loaded and trying to spool or empty and on it hard in 4th or 5th, sometimes 3rd, the turbo will start making a loud sucking sound. Not a whistle and then it'll start going chchchchchchchch, til it builds boost or I let off. I've wondered if there's shrapnel stuck in the intercooler causing it to do this? Or I also have a exhaust leak at the head on the exhaust manifold. After a year of running it like this the turbo has started leaking oil into the intake. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Jonathan

yup, turbo surge, due to lack of mwe grooves... if you can find a whc1 cover it will bolt on and do away with that..
i can give you a guys number who has one if interested

Yeh sure. What are mwe grooves and are you talking about a whc1 compressor housing? I've got 2 hx35s that are junk. I couldn't use parts off of those could I? I put a exhaust housing off one of them once but it made the problem better in some ways but overall it made it worse so I swapped it back. I think the hc1 has a 18cm housing. This turbo won't make more than about 25lbs of boost at WOT. Thanks, Jonathan
