I was just wondering how much preload should be on a waste gate actuator to hold the waste gate shut?
I'm working on a S300 and with the factory settings, the actuator arm is about 1" from the waste gate arm when it's unconnected.
The mount that the actuator is on was actually bending because it was set that tight. It looks like they attached it, and then spun the arm on the actuator with big pliers until it wouldn't go anymore.
Now is it set like that for a reason??, Maybe to preload the wastegate "flapper" from opening under drive pressure..
(but I think it would be pushed closed in that case??)
