heres the deal, my uncle (500mi away) called me because he knows im a big diesel guy and always tampering with something. he has a 88 ntc300 in one of his farm trucks. he doesnt have the internet and apparently the shop in town wants $500 to turn it up. im pretty confident in my self on doing it ourselves. he says right now it turns about 1700rpm and i know 2200 would be right around peak powerband. also i know about the lead cover and once thats off what do i turn? since i cant just look at it is there anyone who has or knows where some pics/diagrams are that show how to? id rather not go into this blind but if i have to i think ill manage.. thanks!!

If it only turns 1700 is that under a load or free reving NTC's are rated at 2150
but will turn 2200 to 2300.

Back to the question........

You DON'T turn NOTHING!! That screw is for the idle only. You need shims under governor spring to increase the "no load" rpm.

To add fuel you need to change the "button", there is a number on the side
like 30,17,10, etc. The lower the number the more fuel, it's that simple. What
you are really doing is increasing the "rail pressure" (fuel pressure) so more fuel is injected

HOWEVER, it ain't your engine so you don't go from a 35 button to a 7 that
is a lot of fuel. :badidea:

To keep it simple drop a few numbers on the button and a "few" shims.
I think it's like 100 RPM per 0.010 (10 thousandths) on the shim.
