Twin turbos and pulling question

I've wanted to put twins on my truck since before I even bought it so now that I bought the second turbo it will be happening soon enough.. I was going to just quit pulling and focus on racing but after going to a pull a couple weekends ago I realized I enjoy pulling to much to give it up.
I know I could probably run the RWYB or open classes but Im not going to be anywhere near that competitive.

So now to the question... if a person with twins was to remove the cold pipe feeding into the smaller turbo he run a normal hot street class? The small turbo will be 64mm.. I know both turbos would still be there and the exhaust would still flow through both as normal but with the cold pipe removed the larger turbo would be to no benefit. How many fellow pullers would be ok with that?

Think they run plugs of some sort from what I hear mentioned in other threads.

Very well could be. I thought maybe they had a plug/hat that went over the lower one to keep it from breathing.

Oh not that I know of... I would think that that wouldn't really work though and cause damage to a turbo.

Im just trying to see if by only removing the cold pipe that feeds from the large turbo into the smaller turbo if could run my normal class. Since the only turbo that would then be feeding into the engine would be the smaller top turbo. The larger one would still be spinning but it would just dump out to nothing, instead of into the small turbo and then into the engine.

Then after the pull is over I could put the cold pipe back on and enjoy the benefits of twins on the ride home. :D

I"m sure there is a answer to your question somewhere. How do you like the 64 on top? Though about doing twins later with my 64 on top or just going to a 66 single.

Im not running twins yet just hope to be by this time next year. I still need a lot of parts. I just have the turbos right now. I love the 64mm, I had a silver bullet on it before and it was pretty decent but its so much more fun to drive with the 64.

I see your from Connellsville, do you know Caleb? He has a dark blue reg cab duramax..

Ya I met him last year for the first time. I think I met you if you were at Numidia last year. Stayed at the Patriot.

Yeah I was at Numidia. Don't really remeber meeting you though.. Caleb and I stayed at the econlodge in Bloomsburgh.

I was pretty quiet. Did attempt a Burnout one nite after the dually did donuts...Failed badly lol. More power this year course tires are about done for lol.

Ya we traveled up together. Long story short bad decision on my part and we don't talk anymore. :nail: He is funny **** especialy with "Habeeb" lol

Depending on the bottom turbo it might cause it to over speed wit the comp wheel not having any load on it....Just a thought, could be wrong though!

thats what i was thinking. maybe a way to put a load on it somehow to stop it from overspeeding but not sure. maybe have a cold pipe that vents the air but have it neck down to like 1" opening. you would probably have to experiment.

And you might have to retune the w/g each time. unless you would be ok with lower boost..

the fact that there is no restriction in the outlet on the primary charger might overspin it. cause damage to the bearings.
