I'm building a set of twins(40 and 3B) and was wondering if the spool up would be slower than a lone single. I was hoping my twins would spool faster than a large single, which i don't think should be a problem. but my real question is will the twins spool up as fast as the hx40 by itself does or will it have more lag?

General rule of thumb is they will spool a little slower than the secondary will on it's own.

Way faster than a big single though.

What exhaust housing do you have on the 40?

Another option is to put a smaller exhaust housing on the 40, and put a big external wastegate to dump into the 3b. Will also help with backpressure concerns.

That's what I did. My PDR 40 uses a 14mm non-wastegated housing that's been machined out to handle the 40's wheel. The twins actually spool faster than the 40 did on its own with a 16mm housing.
