Looking for input on tuning my newly installed twins,I was directed here as others have already been down this road. Any input or links greatly appreciated.
Truck is 05 ford,engine 05 CR Cummins,built 48re tranny,Smarty,and other normal upgrades.I have gauges in the manifold & intake pressures are 1-1 up to 45 psi.Looking for help to do it right the first time as I'd always wanted twins but now the learning curve begins. thanks in advance for any input.
 
If you boost/drive pressure ratio is 1/1 up to 45 psi, sounds like you have a good start. Is that your total boost I assume. I think the tight exhaust housing on the He351 will hurt your drive pressure on the top end though. What EH does your s472 have? If T6 I would bet 1.32 which isn't bad, but I think your 351 will be the choke point...
 
you can port the gate on the 351 or run an external but that set-up is only good to about 650hp.
 
Goal was towing and daily driver,Orginal problem has been extreme egt and thought the twins would cure it but not so,I dont have all the specs on the
S400 I will have to ask Bean exactly what it is.
The drive pressure on one hard run i saw 60 boost and 80 drive,honestly I would like to limit them to 50-60 to not over stress things and have to tear it back down. Exactly how do I add an external gate and where does it plumb in? New game and learning curve for me. Thanks for your input.
 
Any info on porting the gate ? Should I do away with the electronic control and go to a strictly boost/mechanical setup ?
 
I clamped one in the drill press and used a 1 inch drill bit. Worked pretty good. I used a porting tool on the other and it worked fine also but took some time. You might go bigger but not much.
 
yes. eliminate & plug the elec. solenoid (leave it attached to the wiring in the truck) and add a boost elbow. external gate can be done with a spacer plate/gate and ties into the hot pipe but if you also want to limit top boost you may want to plumb the E-gate to run to the down pipe.
 
Thanks guys,and yes it does spool fast dang near wiped out on interstate yesterday on wet road ,barely sqeezed it and yeeha .If I did the plate it would require repiping everything if I'm thinking right .I just got them on don't want take them off yet or till I have too.
