I'm thinking 6" ID. But I'm open to suggestions as I don't know much about this.

I'm having a hard time finding Shedule 80 6" aluminum for my sheilds. Anyone have a source? So far I've only found one place and they wanted $350 a foot.

I have a D80 shield for sale it might be a good start if you wanted to build a complete kit for the drive shaft.

If you want aluminum an old light pole works if you can find one.Just cut what you need.

I've found another place that might have some Sch 80 alum. Unfortunately I have no idea where to get a light pole. Good idea though.

Would you all say go with a 6" or 8" pipe? I think 8 would just be overkill.

Most places want no more that 2" around the shaft so Id think 6" would be lots. I run 6" on my 1480 driveline.

Ive got some 6" .500 wall and 8" .500 wall and then just skim turn the ID OD to clean it up and it turns out awsome. Ive got some here if you need some...

Make sure and measure your flanges before buying the tubing. I tried to use 6" front and back only to find out 6" was to small for the back.

Is that on a 3rd gen AAM or the Dana axles?

I should also add that I'm in Iraq and have a wife that's not very handy with a tape measure... So any help is appreciated.

I have a friend who has a 3rd gen, he used an 8" in the back. My Ford has a 6.125" flange so I had to use an 8" in the back.

You could Hellmann build you a set since you are in Iraq. He built mine in a day or so. http://www.hellmannperformance.com/. Joe is a supporting vendor here and a incredible fabricator.
