Updates for 5R110

As far as what? Only update to the unit was in 05. Slight ratio changes and some changes to teeth counts on some hubs. Later pressure plate keeps the snap ring in place to keep the case from popping.
 
So, Ford hasn't improved or redesigned any of the internals since it was originally introduced in 2003?

That's surprising.
 
No need to change anything. 04 trucks with reverse planetary set failure were fixed with 05 transmissions.
 
The 07+ trans got a revised o/d planetary in preparation for the 6.4. Also got a new pump too.

Sure you can. How do you think ford fixed a bunch of the 04s. They pulled 05 units and sent them to dealers. Just needed to reflash it to take care of the wrench light afterwards.
 
What's different about the O/D and pump? Heavier rating and more fluid flow?
