Using NV231 case w/ cummins..?

Ok so i'm going to be swapping a 12v into my dads 96 1500 and i was wondering if anyone else has used the 1500 t-case when they did the swap.
I know i'll have to run a new trans but just wondering about the case and if it would bolt up to a 47rh trans.

it would bolt up, but i broke my 231 easy when i had my 360 gas. just put a 241 in it and be done with it. just my $.02

I made almost 500hp on one in a chevy. No problems... yet!
Don't recommend trying it tho.
A drivetrain is only as strong as the weakest link...

Yea, it's going to be my dads truck and 4wd is rarely used anyway. Would it even mate up to a 47re?

Should bolt up.
Shaft size may be different.

they have the same 23 spline shaft.

Ok cool. just looking for something that i can use for the meantime. the truck is 4wd and i have the motor so it's just a matter of finding a trans.
