I just got home from round trip to Orlando Florida back to Northern Indiana ( about 2000 miles). My truck was great to travel in but while on my way home I ran in to one problem. I went to check my oil and it was down over a quart, I had just changed it prior to vacation. I noticed oil all over the driverside of the block and on the frame and axle on the driver side of the pick up. Its not my puke bottle because I have relocated that out of the area. It looks like the oil is coming from the vacuum pump. I can't find anything else on the side that looks like oil was leaking from it. I planned on resealing my pump because it had a small drip in the fall but now its a little more than just a small drip. Should I go ahead and get the seal kit from cummins or is the one from fixinrams.com a better choice? I was told both have an updated seal in them. Thanks!

I have used the one from fixinrams.com in my truck and a friends truck. The kit is straight forward and it very simple once you have the vacuum/power steering pump off the truck.

Fixinrams uses a better design on the seal. I strongly recommend it.

Yeah, the fixinrams kit is great. and really easy to install. The Hard part is getting the pump off the truck, and thats just more time consuming than hard IMO.

Vacuum Pump is fixed! I ended up getting the kits from Hoesil Diesel. It came with good instructions and was very easy to do. The only PITA I had was getting the powersteering lines loose on my truck. Other than that it was a nice little project to do tonight.
