Just looking for more info on the leak that is known on these trucks did a search and didnt find much anyone know were to look for how to and what leaks?

There are a few small orings that fit over the shaft inside the vacuum pump that travels through the pump and to the power steering pump.

Over time, those o-rings fail, and you start to loose oil through the vacuum pump. It leaks out through the back of the vacuum pump, between it and the power steering.

If you talk to Dodge, they will tell you that the unit is not rebuildable, and will have to be replaced. They are not cheap.

This guy: http://www.fixinrams.com/ figured out a way to rebuild them.

If you can handle basic tools and mechanical knowledge, it is a very easy job. I did mine from start to finish in under 4 hours. I also found that I did not need to remove the power steering pump as per the directions. This meant that I did not have to bleed the power steering system after I was done.. Which saved a lot of time.

If you don't want to buy the entire kit, you can get the o-rings and parts elsewhere. The directions are very handy to have, but it is also pretty easy to figure out without them. The fixin rams website has a few "tools" made from PCV pipe that make sliding new seals in place a heck of a lot easier.

Hope that helps.

that helped a little i just want to find a break down and how to remove the damn thing to get me started after that i figure it normally

Removing it is very easy.

If I recall correctly, there are 4 bolts on the power steering pump, and another 4 on the engine block that you need to remove.

There is also a bracket that goes from the vacuum pump to the engine block.. like on the VP. If you don't have it lined up perfect when you tighten everything up, you will never get it right. From what I remember (this has been over 5 years since I did mine) you have to take the power steering pump off, then the bracket, then the vacuum pump. Going back on has to be in the exact same order. First the vacuum pump, then the bracket, then the power steering pump. If you put the pump on first, you can't get the bracket back on... So you have to take it back apart.

I'll go out and take a look at the truck tomorrow or the next day and see if it brings back any memory.
