I just bought a 2001 Dodge 3500 with a 6 speed in it. The kid I bought the truck from was brutal on the poor thing and I want to put a new clutch in it. This truck is looking to just be a toy, puller. I am hoping to make 600 horse, sooner or later. I have been looking around for a decent clutch at a reasonable price. South Bend clutches just seem to be way to expensive. Then I stumbled upon Valair Clutches. Wanted to know what you guys thought of them.

Dodge Cummins 6 Speed Performance Clutches
I am looking at the NMU70279-04, the clutch rated at 600 hp and 1100 ft*lb torque.

Appreciate any input.

Great guys, the best customer service you will get, best price.

I run one of their DDs in my 05, does great. Give them a call.

I would get a Dual Disk, not even mess with a single.

I had a valair in my truck. It was a great clutch. It broke so I put a south bend double in and hated it so its back to a valair and I love it. Plus the guys are great to deal with and will help u anyway they can.

Great people! Bought a clutch from them a long time ago for my old 12v, and since have installed a few on friends and customers vehicles. :Cheer:

Comp member also get a better price than what you see online. call em and they will ask a bunch of questions about the use of your truck and your future goals. then spec a clutch for you .

The clutch you are looking at I just installed one in my friends truck two weeks ago. It's a little grabby from a stop but that's to be expected great price it's quiet and good pedal pressure. They got my vote.

I had that clutch in my truck also. A little grabby is an under statement. Mine was on or off. I have their nodular dual disk now, great clutch for a great price. I put maybe 10k on this clutch with a couple 3rd gear boosted launches, before my engine got pulled out. It looked awesome. Only signs of wear were in the intermediate plate, but not bad.

Another vote for Valair. I have never had a south bend so I can't comment other than people seem to really like them also.

I just put a Valair organic dual disk in my 02 6 spd I love it, I live close so I just went and paid the guys a visit and they gave me a tour of the shop and gave me exactly what I was looking for at a great price.

and that clutch your looking at isnt very good for towing, go for a dual disc

I'll second the dual disc. That clutch will hate life pulling trailers or sleds. Call up here and ask for me (Heath) and I will help you find a good reasonable choice for your application.

Thanks a buch guys. I think I am for sure going with one of these clutches. Budget is the biggest issue at the moment. The truck needs much more work than just the clutch.

since someone bumped this... how does the grabbyness of the organic compare to the ceramic?
