Valve cover underside (24v)

Im thinking of taking my stock valve cover and face milling off the "dodge" and the "cummins 24 valve turbo diesel" and making it all one smooth piece. Followed by media blasting and polish. My question is what does the underside of the valve cover look like? Is there material under the letters or is it recessed? I would like to know before taking it off.

its smooth underneath. you can mill it no problem

this one was milled, man it makes a heck of a racket

I imagined it would since there is almost no material there. I was going to leave the 'hump' in the center.

I took the hump off the center of mine... It looks great IMO. Being that its cast there will be real small "pores" though from air pockets. I painted mine so no biggie.
