I have read in more than a few posts over the years, where I think it was PDR, was runnin intake valves in every hole, intake and exhaust on the 12v.

Anyone out there with experience with this setup?

Are the valves cut down, or run as is in the exhaust?

Do the intake valves used as an exhaust valve stand up for very long due to the heat, and less mass?

Are there any drawbacks to this setup?

If not sounds like an easy and beneficial mod?

thoughts? Experiences?

thanx

other question that comes to mind is why are the valves so heavily shrouded?

I understand that the valves are recessed to clear the pistons, but the head coulda been clearanced better around the valves in my mind

Have I missed something?

Is there any issue with laying the head back away from the valve to improve flow so long as you stay inside of the headgasket ring?

FWIW
The largest valves I've seen on the 12v head in the exhaust is 1.70 and 1.88 intake on a .020" over cylinder bore.
That left .030 clearance between intake valve and cylinder wall.

Stock sizes are: Exhaust 1.653"
Intake 1.77"

did a mock up with intakes in both holes - looks like a great improvement

Given the price of custom valves - I think I will try this setup
