Anyone ever run the marine(top hat) style valve seals on a 24v? I see a bunch of info on 12v but not 24v.
 
I'm almost sure they won't work. I don't think there is room on a 4v head.

I'm sure someone else will chime in on this.
 
Get ahold of Snedge on here and he will hook you up with top hat seals.

I vote for this, he can have them to your door the next day for 15 bucks more on the shipping. Pretty freaking amazing considering I live in Utah!!

You need to make sure the head casting will accept the top hat seal. The top hat seal needs to be pushed all the way down to seat on the head. Many of the 24 valve heads had a lip on the guide that will not allow this without first machining the lip off.

I was planning on having it at a machine shop and checked out. I have just heard horror stories and don't wanna mess with it. I also plan on having it decked if needed. Also, I'm still waiting on the headgasket. I haven't heard back from you.

Last I heard you "thought" that you might need the modified gasket, sorry if I let you hang. ???

This was the last PM I received from you.

"I'm gonna have my head cleaned and checked. If it need decked it's going to have that done as well. I also plan on doing a cam while it's apart. I dolt my TST, so I will max out my boost now at 50psi. Machine work here is crazy high and trusting people in my area is tough as well. I think I wanna go with a .010 over modified gasket."

Best thing you could do is call me. PM's and Emails are low on the list while working the parts counter, and talking on the phone.
