valve springs

i have a friend with an 02 duramax. he is planning on doing a buildup this winter. i was wondering at what point would he need to do head studs and valve springs? he will be going with efi live and running an a5000 didnt know if rpm or boost would affect when valve springs are needed? if needed what brand and where to get aftermarket springs? thanks

Headstuds are needed at the same point as connecting rods. Somewhere in the area of 550-650hp.
Valvesprings would be a good idea with the A5000, but not mandatory. depends on the amount of fuel thrown at it. Guy Trip@Socal diesel has springs and retainers.

thanks. well with a cai straight pipe ppe hot plus2 and dd clutch he dynoed 498/944 he is going with the efi live a5000 twin pumps airdog triple disk clutch and not for sure on injectors yet and of course some rods. i will have him give so cal a call and see what they have thanks
