I picked up a new Van Akken V5 box cheap just to try it out.
As soon as I started the truck I noticed a slightly erratic idle, almost a lope.
When I am rolling and ease out of the throttle it has huge lope, sounds like monster pump it lopes so bad............sounds kinda cool though:woohoo: When I let off the pedal quickly it does not do it.

Anyway, what would cause the lope?? I guess I'm not sure what would cause it??

I took off the VA and put on a Bully Dog Torque Dog box and the loping stopped so I know it's not the truck.
I just took the Adrenaline off, had been runnin it for the last 9 months or so, so I'm just experimenting with different boxes. I've got the VA, the Bully Dog and a Juice/Att. right now and a TST PM3 on the way next week, I was wantin to try the VA and the TST together, thought that might be a descent combo just for what I want.
Haven't even hooked up the J/Att. yet to see how I like it.

which ones can be run with a edge comp box, and can timing be run off both boxes at once

Alright, let me rephrase the ?

With this being a timing box, could the lope be caused by excessive timing from the box??
Maybe sumthin screwy in the box causing extra timing to be added??

Anybody??

i know its not good to cut and splice wires but you could try that and put heat shink on to keep moisture out

Has it always loped with the V5 on it? van Aaken got a batch with different boards than they usually used with a little different programming and they seemed to mess with fueling at idle. That could be it.

I only had it on the truck for a day, but yes, it started with the lope as soon as I hooked it up.
The guy that I bought it from mentioned sumthin about different programming but he didn't elaborate any further. He said to just send it back and he would exchange it for another one.
I was just curious as to what would cause this from a plug-in only box.

Thanks for the reply.

That is most likey it then. I think about the last 40 V5 modules van Aaken got all had the new board and programming.
