VID-- 1st time pulling

So L&L moved all their pulls to Ceres? That track looked worse than Newman. I would wait to do anything to your truck until you get it on a better track, your motor did'nt even sound like it was working.

Thanks for the input, I hold your opinion very highly.

Most people seemed to like the track. There were quite a few people in the stands, which never happens out in newman.

Maybe I'll try a taller gear next time. I pulled 4th 4-low this time.
I'm keeping a look out for some more agressive tires too.

I agree with Tom did not even seem to load your motor.

Nice pull man. Definitely needs more fuel.

No more stick on the truck?

Ya, they left Newman and are putting on all their pulls at Ceres, the track was actually not that bad, there was just about 2 inches of loose dirt on top cause it's a horse arena but down underneath it was hardpacked but still kinda loose.

stick as in stick shift? yes.

stick as in sticker? The vid is a little blurry, but you can see it at the end.

C'mon now.........:)

x3, what kinda rpm's did you see?

Left the line and stayed at 4000, it started hopping a bit (hard to see in the vid) so you can hear me pedal down to about 3500 a couple of times, but brought it back up to 4000.

So there you have it, if the RPM never came down then the motor never had a load on it, which means not enough tire or a crappy track. There is no way to tell if the motor ran good or not (other than it not blowing up) on that particular track. What kind of tires are on it now? Try second high possibly at a future pull, and see how it runs.

It didn't feel like much of a load on it, as I could drop the rpms down to 3500 and bring them back up to 4000 without a problem. I have coopers version of the MTR (basically same tread as MTR), they're almost brand new, in a 33x12.5-17. (they only measure 31.5")

Did you watch Smokin Max's pull? Did you think his truck had a decent load on it? He threw chunks of dirt at the sled operators windshield.

I'll try 2nd high next time. If that doesn't work, I'll try 5th low.

Like Scott and Brandon said drop your tire pressure down, 18psi up front and 30psi in the back to start. You probably still won't load the motor on most California tracks though so don't get too discouraged. Make sure you hitch is right at 26" and baby that thing out of the hole. The auto trucks have an advantage on the loose tracks by being able to control wheelspeed out of the hole, but you can make a stick work. Now for John Esteves's truck "SmokinMax", he did not have much of a load on his motor either, but remember, he has some really wide tires, and hanging weight up front, and an auto. Judging by the video he was able to get the sled moving faster out of the hole than you did. Now, don't go friggin burning down your clutch trying to keep the tires from blowing off, just get it moving smoothly and quickly while maintaining some clutch material on your discs.
