so from my other threads i finally got a video of what my truck is excatly doing. 1st to 2nd is good. 2nd to 3rd . well you can watch the video. i had to let off to shift. and then it locks up.


this only happens once the truck is warmed up for about 25 mins
 
well your rpm went WAAAAA, and your speedo went uh, no you didnt! did it down shift? Im not totally understanding whats going on here.
 
normally if it doesn't want to shift into third or fourth, with out letting up on the pedal. It normally turns out to be a seal leaking in the trans. Now if it is the torque converter lock up that is acting up or sometimes fourth. Then it could be a bad tps sensor or your converter. I'm no expert on trans but I am just speaking from things I have seen cause issues.
 
my rpm went waaaaaaaaaaa because once the convertor locked i jumped on it. it unlocked and went. the problem only occurs 2nd to 3rd gear
 
I guess well try it until I figure out what I wanna do for a trans
 
look go to radio shack and buy a 5k linear pot and a knob and wire it in place of the tps....mount that on your dash and your golden....perfect for built trannys as well.

drove around today. beat on it for 45 minutes and no problems??? wtf
 
hey i have a pot that i actually bought from a diesel shop it works great but i have since then fixed the problem that was causing me to need it if u give me some time id take it off and give it to u, u pay shipping
 
I was told by a tranny shop today that you can't use the potentiometer mod with a 47re
he said the trans will never shift right without it

But I've had mine in for a couple of months without problem until a few days ago cuz now mines not shifting right at all it's kind of shifting like the video's
 
Been running mine for two years with a pot and it's fine. The only thing is the pcm doesn;t rationalize lockup. I have to let out of the throttle just a tad to get od to lock up.

IT doesn't need a TPS changing range to function.
 
Mine locks without having to let off the pedal

Mine doesn't wanna shift into 3rd it just stays in 2nd unless you let off complete and then get on it again but then sometimes it shifts right

It was fine until I adjusted the front band
 
you did the full deal with a torque wrench and back off how ever many turns and shook a leprechauns hand? (I hate adjusting bands) Seems like mine did that too. went back and readjusted mine and did fine.
 
My trans place told me to change the governor pressure solenoid and sensor. So I'm trying that next chance I get. I'm gonna throw a shift kit and do the bands at the same time.
