VIN 6 Good or Bad?

I am looking to buy an '01 Cummins (Vin 6). Is this the one that the block has cracking problems? Please let me know something. Thanks

does the block have 53 cast on the side?

Most of the 53's were gone before 01

I dont think you can tell which block the truck has just by looking at the VIN. Youll just have to look and see for yourself.

Correct

The vin 6 just means you have a ETC(Standard) engine instead of the ETH ("High Output"). The ETH engines have a "C" or "7"
