Volume, how much does it effect???

Hey guys gotta a question for you peeps out there that are lots smarter than me. Question is if you move the intercooler into the cab, say where the passenger seat would be (in this case it would be icebox) and then you run the piping around the engine, would the length of your piping effect things like spool up time, ability to keep charger lit, etc. since you have such an increase in the volume of air?
