I guy who I pull with has a 01 witha hot rod vp-44,stock crossover tubesand lines. a fass fuel system, single 66 turbo and just installed a set of scheid lightening 4's(I think) they measure 6x.018. my question is last night at the track when getting the sled moving he has a lot of popping at the first 100 foot after that the truck ran strong. he is running a smarty and tst stack. I assume that the popping is froma lack of fuel pressure correct? If so how to fix it? Monster pump, edm crossover tubes or bigger lines?? I know he needs water on that truck had a good 6" flame out of both stacks:bang let me know what you guy think so we can get rid of the popping down low. Rob

Turn the FASS up to 25-30psi and put the oversized crossover tubes in it.

Get the tubes for now, and you can get them from Scheid. We found that the tubes were needed for anything bigger than a 7x.014 injector, so yeah you should at a minimum need the tubes, but maybe try a set of oversized lines as well.

he has a set of.093 lines but does not line the radicial lope of the truck with the lines on. Rob

Try them with the big crossover's, it should be fine. Is this truck an auto?

The popping could be too much timing with not enough RPM. Maybe try turning the timing from the smarty down? I ran a few stacks, always with a redline and never got any popping unless I was spinning in excess of 4K and the pump electronics could not keep up.

Just kinda curious if you know what the EGT`s are runnin with a 6 inch flame ? IMO don`t think that stock lines and stock crossover tubes are enough to support fuel to a set of 6x.018`s. More fuel should put the flame out. Could be wrong I`m a P-Pump guy.
