hey guys ive got an 01 dually aka the nightmare truck... i was wondering what fuel pressure should it be set at...? recently added a gauge and saw the pressure to the hotrod vp-44 was 34lbs... a few friends have told me thats to high ... is this true? truck has the GDP fuel boss belt driven lift pump II hotrod vp-44 and BD diesel 75hp sticks! they suck by the way very dirty hot running pig!

That's too high. 25psi is pushing it. You'll eventually rupture the diaphragm any higher than that.

thats what i thought...... thanks.. could that contribute to high egts

14si is the advised psi.

Sometimes people have reported hard starts with high psi.

I idle at 20psi and drop to 16psi WOT on my highest power level.

My gauge reads 33-34 constant. But I have a bad sender, if you have an electric sender, 33-34 could be its default mode, just a friendly reminder

Mine is set at 22 idle, sucks down to 16 WOT, with a clean filter.
