Vp vibration?

Has anyone ever heard of a vp causing a vibration? I have a hot rod vp and at 45 mph at low Rpms (once its in overdrive and locks) it feels like the motor is bouncing all over the place and the front end shakes like crazy. When overdrives off at 45mph+ there's little to no vibration. Whole front end is tight and I swapped wheels and tires and the vibration is still there so I know it's not that. Any suggestions?

Sounds way more like a drivetrain issue.

When you do the u-joints, pull the drivelines and make sure they are still completely true. We chased a vibration in a truck for about 8 months. Replaced every u-joint, the clutch, balljoints.. everything we could think of.

Finally figured it out: the truck had smacked a rock up in the hills and every so slightly bent the driveline. Pretty much invisible to the naked eye while the driveline was installed on the truck. If nothing else, throw a level on the line itself when it is out of the truck.

For what it's worth - was about the same speed, too.

Possible lope caused by a hot rod pump? 45 in od locked up is what, 1100rpms? That's low. Engine is bogging like crazy. Lock OD out until you're over 55mph. Engine won't lug and more than likely that's what's causing your problem.

This ^^^^

Running a tuner? My 01 does the same thing if I turn down the quadzilla it goes away! Only does the "vibration' below 1500rpms

The vibration is still just as bad at 65mph around 1700-1800rpm. It's pretty much always there at 45 mph and up just certain speeds its worse. And I've had the tires balanced. And it's got a blue chip. I should have my driveshaft balanced and u joints replaced. That's pretty much the only thing I haven't done yet. I just think its weird how it only happens when the tranny locks in 4th od. The vibration actually got worse after my tranny was rebuilt.

Do you have much aftermarket wiring under the hood? Lift pump? Lights?

Had a buddies truck that would do the same thing and it seemed to be an electrical interference

I have some but they're not floating around or anything. Maybe making them neater will help? But idk, I never had the shake this bad before my rebuild. And when I accelerate when it's in lock up, I can feel the motor bucking like a miss.

Check your converter to flex plate bolts and make sure they are all tight.

Could it be the torque converter? Mine was doin something similar with 100 hp injectors and the t/c wasn't holding when it was locked in so I'm wondering if it wasn't trying to decide whether or not to stay locked

I had a dpc triple disk billet put in because that's what I thought the vibration was originally, but after it was replaced the vibration had no change.

Hmmm is it a vibration or more of the engine surging, which in return makes the truck buck and bounce? Can you push the go pedal and power out of the vibration but once you are back at cruising the engine starts to buck again?

What all do you have for timing and turbo?

I had a vibration with my truck that happened right after I replaced the VP, when the rpms were over 1900 it would vibrate, took forever to find, turned out to be the check valve on the fuel return line on the VP. I even sent the pump back and had it checked and it checked out OK. I installed the new valve and the vibration went away.

Hope this helps

Are you sure the transmission got rebuilt properly? I know my truck does this same thing and its because I need a new transmission. I've been around plenty of trucks that had transmissions rebuilt that ended up being bad, because the clutches weren't put in properly and couldnt handle the low end of the motor,
