I bought a like new so pump from a guy and somehow the keyway got lost in shipment. How do I go about getting a new one? Called cummins and they told me i have to contact bosch for that part? Any suggestions

key way

Anyone who builds pumps should have a keyway. Your pump should have been timed with a certain key with a certain number. Each number means a different amount of offset, your pump needs the same number.

I posted a reply to you on CF for the same question. It has a diagram of where to find the number. and like mentioned above. Call any pump builder, scheid, II, Bluechip, MWFI etc...

Bringing this back to life...I have a used SO VP44 that the keyway was lost and want to know what the differences are in the keyways?

Can the keyway off of the stock pump be used on the replacement?

If the Key way off the old pump physically fits into the new pump correctly, how could it effect the timing of the pump?

They all will "fit" into the shaft on the pump but each keyway is stepped with an offset that matches up with the static timing on that pump. There is a 3 digit number stamped on the pump. I got my key from a local injection shop since my pump did not come with one.

Ok thanks... I'll call Columbus Diesel in the morning and see what I can find.
